Final Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System Rules and P

On November 2, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released final PFS and OPPS regulations for Calendar Year (CY) 2024, finalizing many of the changes in the proposed rules.
The changes in the Medicare physician fee schedule will have differential impacts on certain oncology and physician specialties. The agency also finalized several proposals to extend reimbursement for certain telehealth services for CY 2024, and in some cases permanently. Importantly, it also finalized proposals to cover services that will help patients with serious illnesses such as cancer navigate the health system and receive assessments of certain social and community risk factors. It is also proposing reimbursement for caregiver training.
