For more than 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in the medical field, including serving as an Oncology Patient Resource Coordinator (Financial Navigator) at AnMed Health since 2015. I absolutely adore what I do and feel incredibly fortunate to be able to support patients and their families during such an important time in their lives.
In my role, I help patients navigate many of the challenges that can come with a cancer diagnosis. This includes assisting with insurance and financial questions, completing Medicaid and charity-care applications, arranging transportation, helping patients obtain pharmaceutical products and medication assistance, providing information about educational and community resources, filing claims for cancer policies, and helping patients navigate the process of applying for disability. I also work closely with clinical and support staff to connect patients with resources that can supplement and enhance their overall well-being.
I graduated from Greenville Technical College with an Associate of Arts degree and have continued my professional education through the Association of Community Cancer Centers Financial Advocacy Boot Camp I & II, Navectis Financial Navigation Training Program, CPR certification, SC Notary Certification, and Mental Health First Aid certification.
At the heart of what I do is helping people. Whether it’s finding financial assistance, connecting someone with a community resource, helping a patient access needed medications, or simply making an overwhelming process feel a little more manageable, I’m grateful to be able to make a difference for patients and their families. ❤️
